Nutrition iQ signs

Look for these signs on the shelf. They're color-coded to point out key nutrition content in qualified items throughout the store.

All foods that have a shelf tag are low in saturated fat and, at minimum, meet criteria for healthier sodium claims. To learn more, visit www.joslin.org.

Excellent Source Fiber

Contains 20% or more
of the daily value of
fiber per serving. If it
contains 3g or more of
fat, then fat content
must be disclosed.

Good Source Fiber

Contains between
10-19% of the daily value
of fiber per serving.
If it contains more than
3g of fat, then fat
content must be disclosed.

Low Calorie

Contains 40 calories
or less per serving.
Meals / main dishes:

or less per 100g.

Excellent Source Calcium

Contains 20% or more of
the daily value of calcium
per serving.

Good Source Calcium

Contains between
10-19% of the daily value

* Healthier Level Sodium foods meets the levels required by FDA for sodium, fat, saturated fat, and other nutrients defined by FDA to use the term "Healthy".
Some foods do not meet the FDA Nutrient Content Claims that are used in the nutrition iQ program and did not receive a tag. Other foods did not receive a tag due to their sugar content. However, these foods may still contain other, important nutrients, such as vitamins, minerals or healthy fats. It's important to remember that all foods can fit as part of a balanced diet.
